Thanks to our friends over at the EMB for bringing this item to our attention. Bigblueinteractive.com, a Giants fan site, is reporting that DeSean Jackson and Drew Rosenhaus were spotted having dinner together in Miami this week.

Since web blogs are completely reliable, we should all panic right now.

DeSean Jackson reportedly had diner with Drew Next Question Rosenhaus.

DeSean Jackson reportedly had diner with Drew "Next Question" Rosenhaus.

Ok, seriously, this could be just a bunch of crap. Or, it could be legit. If it’s legit, could Drew be in a little bit of hot water with the NFLPA? Could he be decertified as an agent?

At the very least, having dinner with a player already under contract with someone else could be considered tampering.

If Jackson actually were to switch agents and hire Rosenhaus, the kneejerk reaction is to speculate that the stud wideout’s tenure with the Eagles will be shaky and bring to mind images of T.O. in his driveway.

However, Jackson is not T.O.; there is no need to even consider Jackson in another uniform.

Will he want and deserve a better contract? Yes. Will he ask for that deal just one year into a contract? No.

No matter who DeSean’s agent is, the Eagles know they have to extend this guy and give him a major signing bonus. They’ll likely start the process either this offseason in preparation of an uncapped NFL season, or once a new collective bargaining agreement is reached.

Since the T.O. debacle, Drew has negotiated contracts with the Eagles for players including Shady McCoy, so that should not be a problem at all.

DeSean is the kind of young guy the Eagles want and need to keep. He’s not going anywhere. Rosenhaus or not.
