Not much has gone right for the Eagles in Oakland during the first half, and they trail the Raiders, 10-6.
Jason Peters (knee) and Brodrick Bunkley (arm/shoulder) have suffered injuries for the Eagles. Peters will not return to the game.
The Eagles offense has looked putrid and mustered just 6 points on two David Akers field goals. Akers missed a third attempt that followed an Asante Samuel interception. The Eagles took possession at the Raiders 29-yard-line, but couldn’t convert it into any points.
Donovan McNabb and Andy Reid did their normal poor job of managing the game clock. They had called all three timeouts prior to the Eagles last drive of the half.
McNabb, not realizing that, attempted to call a fourth timeout, which resulted in a penalty. I wonder if he knows that overtime is sudden death.
In addition, Donovan has become good friends with Seymour hiney today. Richard Seymour and Trevor Scott both have two sacks. The Eagles offensive line has not protected McNabb at all today. He’s going to get hurt if this keeps up.
On defense, Samuel and Quintin Mikell each have an interception. That’s the good news.
The bad news? They still haven’t figured out that the tight end needs to be covered. Zach Miller has four catches for 125 yards, including an 86-yard touchdown reception. He has that at halftime! Former Eagles Tony Stewart has added two receptions for 11 yards.
Somewhere, Chris Cooley is salivating.
