Peters out, Eagles squander opportunity

October 18th, 2009 · No Comments · NFL, Philadelphia Eagles

Asante Samuel picked off the 30th pass of his career, setting the Eagles up at the Raiders 29-yard line and putting them in a position to take a lead. Three plays later, the Eagles hadn’t moved the ball.

David Akers then pushed a field goal attempt wide left.

Also, starting left tackle Jason Peters went down with an apparent knee injury and will not return. The offensive line hadn’t played well to that point, giving up two sacks in the team’s first two possessions. This can’t help.

On the plus side, the Raiders offense still sucks. JaBustus Russell has thrown one pick, and led the Raiders to three-and-outs n their other three possessions.
