The Eagles will face the Cowboys without Brian Westbrook on Sunday.
According to Les Bowen of the Daily News, Brian Westbrook officially will not suit up for the Eagles against the Cowboys on Sunday night.
The Eagles released a statement saying Westbrook started showing signs of a “mild headache” on Friday afternoon. Headaches are a symptom of a concussion, something Westbrook suffered against the Redskins two weeks ago.
A concussion is a brain injury and keeping Brian out is the prudent thing to do. We wish every team would follow the Eagles lead and treat concussions with the utmost precautions. This is about Brian’s life after football, and not about Sunday’s game.
In B-West’s absence, Leonard Weaver and Shady McCoy will have to step up and carry the load like they did last week. You also will see more Jeremy Maclin and DeSean Jackson Wildcat plays.
In addition to Westbrook, starting linebacker Chris Gocong and defensive end Victor Abiamiri will miss the game due to injury.
Football Night in America kicks off in less than one hour.
