As a fan of MMA and UFC, I’m sure Shane Victorino always envisioned himself in a Golden Gloves competition. He probably never figured it’d be on a baseball diamond.

Shane Victorino won his second Gold Glove today for his ability to catch beer in the outfield.

Victorino hauled in his second straight Gold Glove Award as one the the National League’s best defensive outfielders. Jimmy Rollins joined the Flyin’ Hawaiian by collecting his third straight Gold Glove as the league’s best defensive shortstop.

These are the first of what could be a couple postseason awards for the Phillies. Charlie Manuel will get Manager of the Year consideration, and Ryan Howard will be in the running for the MVP. While neither of them are the favorites to win, pitcher JA Happ should win Rookie of the Year.
