From No. 2 to 6 in three hours. That’s what happened to the Eagles on Sunday by virtue of their 24-0 spanking by the Dallas Cowboys.
A first round bye was staring the Eagles in the face, yet mistakes are forcing the team to travel back to Dallas next week as the sixth seed.
The Cowboys steamrolled the eagles, 24-0, Sunday.
Among the miscues and embarrassing moments:
Dropped passes by Jeremy Maclin, Leonard Weaver and others.
Missed 53-yard field goal caused by Andy Reid not going for it on 4th-and-2 at Dallas 36.
Wasting ten seconds of the clock before calling a timeout in the fourth quarter (we know the game was over, but still).
Pissing away a timeout because the Eagles send out ten guys on the punt team.
A stupid personal foul penalty by Jason Peters on one of the few positive offensive plays by the Birds.
A lost fumble by Donovan McNabb on a low snap by Nick Cole that he should have handled.
Missed tackles on defense.
Patrick Crayton being wide open in the end zone.
Lack of urgency displayed by the Eagles all day.
Trust us, there were more. But, we’re tired of typing and are getting frustrated reliving this pathetic performance in our heads.
The Eagles will get another shot next week.
Time’s yours, Andy.
