Allen Iverson will be a Sixer the rest of the year.
The Sixers today said they would guarantee Allen Iverson’s contract for the remainder of the season.
The team signed Iverson to a non-guaranteed deal last month. All deals become guaranteed if players are still on an NBA roster as of this Friday. The announcement was virtually a formality as the team had no reason to dismiss A.I.
Although Iverson missed a few games due to an arthritic condition in his knee, he hasn’t done anything detrimental during his recent Philly swing.
In fact, he may actually be helping the team find its way to mediocrity. The Sixers finished 3-2 on a recent West Coast road trip during which Iverson played in four games, including all three wins.
On the road trip Iverson averaged 15.7 points and four assists. He twice had more than six assists.
