I see the validity in some of your arguement, but I have to agree with Mark, interest in football completely dies after the Super Bowl. I think it was a smart move by Goodell to make it the week before the super. You really think having a few of the roster spots lost to superbowl contestants is the biggest issue??? What I can believe is that you failed to mention the blatant shortfall of the Pro Bowl; that these guys aren't even playing at the level they played in high school! That's what's wrong with the Pro Bowl, and I don't blame them. Why risk your career on a meaningless game, and why play football half-assed? I like the idea of having the pro bowlers play basketball. One last thing, as a sports writer aren't you ashamed that you rated a football players' talent based on his fantasy worth?

Mr. Ward,

I disagree. I'm an avid football fan and I haven't watched the Pro Bowl in 15 years. Like most football fans, the Super Bowl is the end of the season for me. No one cares anymore and few watch. Many top players skip the Pro Bowl every year. The annual Pro Bowl in Hawaii is a boring football game, played with little enthusiasm. If the Pro Bowl game was played in Hawaii this year, would the 3 injured quarterback's from the AFC play? Probably not. Do you really need to see more of Peyton Manning? Put the best available players on the field for a game to start off Super Bowl week and you may actually get a few people to watch. My 17 year old son asked me what time the game was on today. In our world, some interest is better than none at all. What other sports have an all-star game when the season is over? I think most professional football players can pay for their own vacations to Hawaii. Should I start crying now because a few well paid NFL players have to travel without their team? Please Frank. Get on with the game.

The Pro Bowl is before the Super Bowl this year because of scheduling conflicts with the Olympics. Despite what anyone says, that's the real reason, and everyone hates having the pro bowl (a) before the super bowl and (b) not in Honolulu. It'll return to Honolulu after this year.
