Roy Halladay showed Phillies Nation why he was absolutely worth giving up three of the top 100 prospects in baseball during his debut in Phillies red against the defending World Champion Yankees today.
The unquestioned ace of the staff tossed two scoreless innings in which he struck out three. Only one runner reached base on an error by new third basemen Placido Polanco.

The next time Roy Halladay meets the media like this, it may be to collect a Cy Young Award.
Halladay looked so impressive and completed his outing with such ease that he then went to the bullpen to get some extra throws in since he barely broke a sweat in his two innings.
Today may have simply been a Grapefruit League opener for some, but not for the Phils and their fans. Today, Halladay put the NL on notice that he is here and he will dominate. If he continues to pitch as he has throughout his career, the Phils may be fielding a 20-game winner.
