Finally, the Sixers will get the shooting guard they have coveted and needed.

Against all odds, the Sixers moved from sixth to second in the NBA Draft thanks to the lottery. Assuming Kentucky PG John Wall goes first to the Washington Wizards, Evan Turner is there for the taking.

The shooting guard out of Ohio State is a playmaker, and he could form a lethal backcourt with Jrue Holiday.

Evan Turner is likely coming to Philadelphia to join a lineup of young players with promise. He and Jrue Holiday could form the NBA backcourt of the future.

Holiday flashed glimpses of being a legit point guard the team can build around in his rookie year.

The imminent drafting of Turner means the failed Andre Iguodala experiment at the two guard is over and he can play his more natural 3 spot. Thaddeus Young is a better power forward than small forward.

For the first time in a long time, the Sixers have hope. They may finally get their first star player since Allen Iverson was jettisoned to Denver.

Please 76ers take Evan Turner with this pick! I am excited about Basketball for the first time in years.

Your saying move Thaddeus to PF? So bury him behind Brand on the depth chart? Or Bury the most expensive guy on your roster (Brand) on the depth chart behind Thad? And don’t suggest Brand playing center because history (time in LA and Chicago) shows he hates it.

I know, the Sixers have too many forwards. But, what do you do with Young and Iggy? You can’t play them both with Brand. I don’t want Brand at center. Honestly, either Iggy or Brand needs to be dealt. Brand’s contract is untradeable. So, do you move Iggy? Or remain logjammed at the SF and PF positions? That’s the question Stefanski needs to answer this offseason.

The Sixers are set in the backcourt for the next 10 years with 19 year old Holliday and 21 year old Turner. We have to live with Brand so this would be my scenario for next year:
    PG – Holliday
    SG – Turner
    SF – Iguadola
    PF – Young
    C – Dalembert

Brand and Lou Williams are first two guys off the bench. You are not burying Brand as he will still get 25 minutes a game off the bench. Lou can just come in and light it up off the bench!

Thanks man. I’ll check it out and post it on the site when I get home. Thrilled to have a shot at him, assuming Wall goes first.

i like that the sixers have the second pick in the draft and yes i think the should get turner. then if i was doug Collins my roster would look like this
    Center-Dalmbert
    Power Forward- Young
    Small Forward Iggy
    Shooting Guard- Turner
    point guard Hoilday
with that line up we could become the blazers of the east, now what to do with brand since he not doing anything trade him or buy out this contract like they did with chris webber.
