Evan Turner made one of his first public appearances in Philly last night before the Phillies took down the Blue Jays. Turner, the Sixers top pick out of Ohio State, tossed the first pitch before the start of the Phillies away series at Citizens Bank Park.

Turner tossed a slider low and away that should make Brad Lidge worry about his job security. OK, the pitch wasn’t really that good, but he did reach home plate.

Evan Turner talks with Charlie Manuel before the Phillies game Friday night.

Turner was on the field prior to the game and talked with Charlie manuel, Jimmy Rollins, Ryan Howard and others. No doubt, they filled the rookie in on what it feels like to parade down Broad Street.
