A week after being listed as “not a person of interest” by the police, Michael Vick was downgraded to questionable. According to a story in the Daily News this morning, the Virgina Beach Police Department is reexamining Vick’s potential role in events leading up to a shooting outside a nightclub last Thursday night.
“Right now, we don’t really have a title for him,” police spokesman Adam Bernstein is quoted in the Daily News story. That’s clearly a downgrade in status.
Michael Vick has been downgraded from "a person of no interest" by the Virginia Beach Police Department.
Vick met with detectives at his own will earlier this week. However, new witness statements and a surveillance vieo from the club now have police looking at Vick’s story. That’s not to say he was involved at all. It’s just saying the police want to be more careful before ruling out Vick’s involvement or knowledge of the incident.
From what media reports have stated the last day or so, Vick is now said to have left minutes before the shooting. That is a clear discrepancy with what Vick’s lawyer has told the media.
If Vick has not been 100 percent truthful in what he’s told police or commssioner Roger Goodell, he’s going to be in line for another NFL suspension. Goodell made it clear that Vick needed to be forthcoming and stay out of trouble.
Stay tuned on this one.
