Karma is a bitch. Wrong place, wrong time.
Michael Vick’s current situation can likely be boiled down to the above cliches. It is that simple.
The shooting of Vick dogfighting co-defendant Quannis Phillips outside a Virginia Beach nightclub following the Eagles quarterback’s 30th birthday party probably doesn’t involve Vick directly. I can’t see any situation in which he shot Phillips or ordered one of his boys to do it.
From what we know, Phillips showed up at Vick’s birthday party and some altercation ensued between Vick’s crew and Phillips. Vick then left and Phillips was shot minutes later.
Michael Vick's elusiveness on and off the field appear to be gone. Karma is chasing Vick and appears poised to snatch what's left of his NFL career.
To be clear, Vick left before Phillips was shot, a fact nobody disputes. Did he leave three minutes as video indicates, or did he leave 20-30 minutes earlier as Vick and Falcons wideout Roddy White have stated?
Doesn’t matter, really. Before is before. Yes, we could all sit here and try to make up a story that pokes holes in Vick’s credibility. The fact of the matter is we don’t need to.
In public relations seminar classes at Rowan University, we learned that it takes a business about seven years to recover its credibility or image after a disaster or situation that hurts its public perception.
Michael Vick had a national image and brand that netted him millions of dollars in salary and endorsements for being the human joystick of the NFL. Now, he’s trying to rebuild his credibility in the NFL. And, incidents like the one that happened in Virginia Beach won’t help him.
A year ago, I was for Vick getting a second chance after he served his time for his crime. However, I also said Vick needed to be careful in how he presents himself and could not afford any negative situations, no matter how small. Vick’s involvement in the Virginia Beach incident may be nil. Doesn’t matter to me, or to karma.
Vick may have been in the wrong place at the wrong time, but he put himself in that position. If you think for a second that being near a shooting at a birthday party in his honor doesn’t have NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell ready to suspend him and Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie ready to release him, you obviously didn’t listen to Lurie’s statements upon signing Vick, nor have you appreciated Goodell’s moxy in dealing with the NFL’s bad boys the last two years.
Vick was on a short leash and the minute he agreed to go to a birthday party in his honor at a nightclub that had no entrance criteria other than having the greenbacks to pay the cover charge along with a pair of white pants, he put himself in the wrong place and wrong situation at the wrong time.
The Eagles flop of a wildcat made his choice. Phillips made his choice in showing up. And, the person who put a bullet in Phillips’ leg made his choice.
Regardless, Vick put himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. His image and credibility take another hit, as they should. The man trying to regain his status as a starting NFL quarterback worthy of being the face of a franchise is going to pay the price for being at that nightclub that night.
Michael Vick will be released by the Eagles. It won’t happen today or tomorrow as the Associated Press would have you believe on its credible “sources.” The Eagles and NFL have to wait until all facts have been sorted out. We’d be shocked if Vick didn’t get cut or at least have some consequences for his poor judgement from having/attending the party in the first place.
And, if or when he is released, he can thank karma. The bitch is coming for Vick and the former federal inmate can do nothing to stop it.
Photos of dogs who survived Michael Vick's care. Many were not as lucky and were tortured. Are they now getting revenge thanks to karma?
The dogs he oversaw during his interstate dogfighting ring didn’t make choices. They were simply in the wrong place — under Vick’s care — at the wrong time. Seriously, the dogs did nothing to deserve the cruel, torturous, inhumane treatment the received from the Eagles 2009 Ed Block Courage Award recipient.
So, while Vick’s dogs had no choice in the time or place they found themselves prior to being murdered, Vick did have a choice. He made his.
And, now, he’s going to learn that even canines can get revenge thanks to karma.

Guadalajara spokesman Allen Fabijan DISPUTES NATIONAL MEDIA’S CLAIMS!!!!!!
PREJUDICE Anglo-Saxon Neanderthals in the NATIONAL MEDIA REPORTED A CALLIN ON A RADIO STATION AS FACT FOR A WHOLE WEEK. “IT WAS A LIE” ACCORDING TO Guadalajara spokesman Allen Fabijan. Wow!!! CAN WE BELIEVE THE MEDIA????? HELL NO!!!! CAN YOU TRUST THE MEDIA??? HELL NO!!!!!
Sucks when people with a brain go against the hateful logic and witch hunts of a rumor mill forum.
Marcus is not responsible for 300 grown people outside the building across the street when the party is over for 25 minutes he is paying the bill and Michael and his wife were gone for 5 minutes. If something happens after an event over and across the street or a little down the street the host is not responsible or liable.
Now if you have a problem it is with “THE SUPREME COURT, SARAH PALIN AND THE NRA”!!! So take it up with them “ National Media”.
If Michael Vick and his wife were gone and it was a party for him then why did people, Quannis Phillips included sit up there 25 minutes after the party was over and 5 minutes after he and his wife had drove off.
THIS SHOOTING DIDN’T EVEN HAPPEN AT VICK’S BIRTHDAY PARTY BECAUSE IF IT HAD THEY WOULD HAVE CAUGHT IT ON CAMERA.
THE SHOOTING HAPPENED ACROSS OR DOWN THE STREET Vick had Security and cameras at the party and he was gone with other NFL players and his wife.
MARCUS VICK HAD “VIDEO SERVEILLANCE CAMERAS AND SECURITY” AT THE PARTY.
If it was Vick’s party at home shouldn’t everybody in attendance be a friend, family member or an acquaintance? I think that goes without saying FRANK WARD.
That’s precisely my point. Vick should have had a party at home, not at a club with no scrutiny about who gets in. At no point, do I say Vick is involved. However, his decision-making is questionable. Can he go out in public? Sure. Go have dinner with your brother, fiance’ and a few close friends. Advertising a party and charging admission — that was his mistake because once he did that, he had no control.
You can label me racist or whatever, but I was in favor of Vick getting another chance last year. He just needs to make better decisions. In this case, he didn’t and I’m not sure the Eagles can afford to see if he learns from this mistake or not.
And I thought it was 10- 20 minutes but if your gone how do you know what happened until somebody calls you. At that point in time it could have been 10- 20 or 30 minutes.
incidents like the one that happened in Virginia Beach won’t help him. THIS IS THE MEDIA’S MESS NOT VICK’S. IT DIDN’T EVEN HAPPEN AT HIS PARTY.
Pale: I respect your stance and opinion. I’d be the first to take the media to task for bias. In this case, the incident happened outside the place where his party was held. The person shot has a history with Vick. It is a story. Again, I do not think Vick has any involvement and he likely did the right thing in leaving. However, “hosting” the party in the first place is the issue.
What will America’s karma be for those 100,000 people dead in Iraq and 5,000 soldiers of are own. And where are the Native Americans at? And what about that Nuclear Bomb!! Those are people not dogs so what will the white mans karma be. LOL
My point being America is not humane to humans so who are we to judge Michael’s karma over some damn dogs.
Thanks for answering my post and I respect your opinions as well.
And $50 for a party ticket in a recession!!!!!! I don’t have it to spend. A $50 a ticket party doesn’t sound that open to me. I would have been excluded.
Some people shoot deers and put their heads on the wall. In their kitchen, living room or workplace office!!!
Vick is a degenerate, and will always be a degenerate. No amount of prison time will ever make him a decent human being. When is our NFL going to wake up, and get rid of him? Maybe now??? It didnt take the abuse, torture and killing of defenseless animals for him to be gone for good. Maybe now, that he is once again involved in a shooting incident? He keeps preaching that he is so into his ” family”. Why was he not home, with his ” family” celebrating his birthday?? If he was home, with his girlfriend and his children, where he should be, none of this would be happening. I hope Mr. Goodelle finally does the right thing, and gets rid of him. Obviously, he will never change, no matter how many second chances he gets.
I am not so sure Vick wasn’t involved in the shooting, he sounds just like he did when dead dogs started showing up on his property.
It was below the waist so it was just an assault and he got out of the hospital that night. People are blowing this way out of proportion. With the Supreme Courts new ruling I don’t see anywhere he will be able to go. Phillips should have left when the party needed and not been hanging out down the street. Hanging out is when things happen. If the party was over then go home. Vick went home when he left the building.
Over almost six decades of life experience I have discovered that a man who will beat, torture and kill an animal, especially what is typically a pet will also engage in violence in his own home or stalk and attack a human on the street.
Although Vick may have grew up around dog fighting, he knew it was wrong and the proof is in his attempt to be covert with his business.
Quanis Phillips and the guy who shot him are Vick’s kind-of-people. They are of the same ilk and as is soon to be discovered with Marvin Harrison, it’s simply a matter of time before the cover is blown.
Did ya’ll know OJ used to kick dogs?
Like Vick some people do not get it…Public party..bad idea..especially put on by Marcus Vick.Gone or not @ the time of the shooting he was in a bad situation being at the club…he is not a smart guy. When you are a conficted felon and trying to make a come back you do not own your life anymore..if he wants to hang out and make bad choices he will not be in the NFL and that is exactly what is going to happen.I simply think ..which is no excuse is that he does not know any better and his friend and wife are just stupid or he does not listen to anybody.
last I checked deer hunting was not against the law
