No, not Stacey Andrews. He’s still a wreck and a waste of a roster spot.

The former waste of an IR spot, who happens to be Stacey’s brother, Shawn Andrews played well for the Giants last night.

Shawn Andrews is turning heads in Giants camp. He looks back to his old All-Pro self. Thanks for showing us that the last two years, Shawn.

The Star Ledger’s Mike Garafolo wrote the following: “ONE MORE THING: LG Shawn Andrews had an outstanding game. He did a great job of getting deep to nudge a rusher upfield and past Bomar and a few plays later proved once again to be nimble when he moved quickly to pick up a late blitz. It’s early for Andrews, but so far his back appears to be fine while his skills haven’t diminished.

Big Blue View had the following to say: “The big fella is an absolute earth-mover from the left guard spot. Did you notice how many times the Giants ran behind the former Pro Bowler when they needed yards Thursday night, and the fact they succeeded when they did it? It’s only a matter of time before Andrews supplants Rich Seubert in the starting lineup.

Finally, GiantsFootballBlog raved about Andrews as well. “Of the substitutes, FA pickup Shawn Andrews simply kicked butt during his time out there last night. He could be a steal and and half for this team. He was manhandling his men and picking up the missed assignments of others.

On one hand, we’re happy that The Big Kid has stopped getting his Michael Phelps on and is healthy. On the other, he’;s now a Giant and we can only hope it’s a matter of time until, his back goes again. Nov. 21 would be an ideal date.
