The Human Joystick may be back to form.

That doesn’t mean he’s ready to start again in the NFL, at least for a team that has it’s eyes on more than simply selling tickets and jerseys. That doesn’t mean he will, or ever should, get the chance to start over a healthy Kevin Kolb this season.

Michael Vick made old school athletic plays in relief of Kevin Kolb on Sunday. The Human Joystick may be back to form.

However, nobody can deny the fact that Vick, the guy who made highlight reels with his feet, has his athleticism back after his stint in the joint.

In the first game of this season, Vick had more amazing runs than he had all of last season. In fact, save the 30-yard gain against the Bears in 2009, Vick was a flop. He just never had the speed to turn the corner.

Many said to give him time, let his body readjust to the rigors of the NFL, and he’d show he’s not finished. maybe they were right.

In addition to going 17-of-24 for 175 yards, one TD and a 101.9 QB rating, Vick made plays with his feet. He rushed 11 times for 103 yards. Yeah, 175 yards passing and 100 yards rushing is a typical Vick line.

Now, you have to take into account that Vick did his damage mostly in the second half when the Packers had a big lead. He also did so in relief of Kevin Kolb, who was out with a concussion. As a result, the packers hadn’t gameplanned for him. We’ll likely get to see how Vick does against a team that prepares for him all week next Sunday against Detroit.

Still, you have to be excited with the fact that Vick appears to have his legs back. He could give you something out of the Wildcat formation.

That’s something that the Eagles may need this year, especially with the growing pains Kolb is going to continue to suffer.
