Somewhat lost in the hub-bub of the continued Michael Vick Redemption Tour on Monday night was the return of Jerome Harrison as an NFL talent.

The tailback who was shipped out of Cleveland for a replica of the Liberty Bell racked up 109 yards on just 11 carries in his second game for the Eagles. He torched the Redskins defense for 50 yards on a TD run in the first quarter that gave the Birds a 28-0 lead.

Jerome Harrison bursts past Deadskins defenders en route to toasting them on a 50-yard TD early in Monday's thrashing of Washington.

Harrison is a true NFL talent as he displayed by racking up 286 yards in one game last year. He has speed and can bust it up the middle. For whatever reason, the Browns soured on him and gave him away.

Now that he’s learned the Eagles offense and blocking scheme, he’s getting a chance to tote the rock as Shady McCoy’s back-up and he’s making the most of it. Once Leonard Weaver was lost in the season opener, you had to wonder who would be the main guy behind McCoy. Mike Bell was a signing gone bad.

Luckily, the Eagles were able to trade the mistake for a guy who can and will excel in this offense.

Vick, Jackson, Maclin and McCoy are already enough to give NFL defenses fits. Harrison is just one more weapon that will cause coordinators and coaches to lose sleep.

Jerome is not the fastest or the strongest, but he does have good vision, makes consistantly good cuts in open field and does well with a good lead blocker. I watched him at WSU in college when he led the nation in rushing during the regular season. 200+ yard games were common, it was almost boring at the end because nobody could stop him.
