Earlier tonight we accused the NFL of setting up the Giants for failure by making them travel to Minnesota on the day of a game. The Giants were forced to spend Saturday night in Kansas City due to a major snowstorm in the Twin Cities.
The league changed its tune within the hour. Instead of screwing the Giants this weekend, they are setting them up for a fall next weekend when they host our beloved Eagles.
The NFL has moved the Giants-Vikings game to Monday Night. According to a tweet by Chris Mortensen, ESPN’s Ed Werder says the winds are so bad that it’d be dangerous to try to clear the snow from the Metrodome roof.
While the Giants can now get to Minnesota the day before their game, they will have to prep for the Eagles on a short week. With the NFC East title likely on the line next week, we’re guessing the G-men would rather have the extra day to prep for Michale Vick, DeSean Jackson and Co.
It’s a small thing this late in the season, but any advantage is a plus.
