The Philadelphia Eagles have never been a wide receiver Pro Bowl factory. Sure, we’ve had a few in recent years including Terrell Owens and Irving Fryer. Then again, that’s all the Eagles have had even though they’ve been one of the league’s best teams over the last decade plus.
With just 28 yards receiving against the Giants on Sunday, DeSean Jackson will be the first back-to-back 1,000 yard wideout since Irving Fryar in 2006 (1,195 yards) and 2007 (1,316 yards).
Jackson has 972 yards on 42 catches in 12 games this year. He had 1,156 yards on 62 catches in 15 games last year.
Since Fryar, only two Eagles have posted 1,000 yard seasons: Owens (1,200 yards) in 2004, and Kevin Curtis (1,110 yards) in 2007.
Wouldn’t it be great to see DeSean Jackson cross the 1,000 yard plateau on a play like this?
