Cliff Lee, why can’t you be in two places at once. The Flyers could have used you to pitch a shutout in net for them tonight as the Black&Orange dropped the first game of the playoffs, 1-0.

The Flyers had plenty of chances, registering 35 shots on net. But, Sabres netminder Ryan Miller turned them all away. Honestly, the Flyers created some chances but didn’t get many rebound shots. And, their power play just wasn’t effective.

Flyers goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, making his first playoff start, played well, turning away 24 shots. But, Miller was just that much better.

On a night in which we watched Lee toss a complete game shutout in DC, the Flyers took away some of the fun times with a shutout of their own. Only, they got shutout.

The bottom line is with the way the Flyers played over the last month without Chris Pronger, nobody should be shocked by this.

One has to wonder if Pronger will be forced to give it a go now because you have to at least split at home.
