If you’ve been hiding under a rock, then the fact that DeSean Jackson made an ill-advised remark on a Sirius radio show this week is news to you. After tweeting some rubbish late last night, now comes something resembling an apology and softer stance.
“I am sorry for using words that I know to be hurtful and unacceptable in a recent radio interview,” tweets DJacc. “I have made a mistake and would like to make it clear that words I used meant no disrespect to the Gay and Lesbian community. Intolerance is unacceptable and I apologize to anyone I have offended.”
Obviously, DJacc is a free spirit who lets his thoughts fly. And, he was on a hip-hop station where his initial words may be used in a different way than in the mainstream culture of America. But, DeSean needs to learn that what he says is taken literally and must watch his every word in the era of the soundbite.
