They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck. Then maybe the Phillies will be showering in champagne come October based on the rain out of Harry Kalas Statue Tribute Day at the ballpark on Sunday.
The day numerous Phillies fans and an organization had scheduled on their calendar was a no-go thanks to the torrential downpours from Mother Nature that dumped up to three inches in parts of Philly before sunrise. Another three inches was possible during the day. Needless to say, the Nationals an Phils weren’t taking to the soggy field.
Hopefully, this rain equates to good luck for the Kalas statue and that turns into October wins for the red pinstriped posse. Harry, pull strings in heaven. We want to play High Hopes after a WFC clinching game.
The statue will now be dedicated on Tuesday evening.
