Phillies could go six days between wins thanks to Hurricane Irene

Could you imagine the Phillies feared Phour Aces and Pence/Mayberry-induced line-up going nearly a week between wins? Could happen as soon as this week.

Of course, Hurricane Irene would be to blame and not the Phils themselves. The Fightins have lost two in a row and very well may not play until Monday in Cincinnati. The Phils beat the Mets on Tuesday, then lost to the crybabies on Wednesday.

Following an off day on Thursday, the Phillies lost to the Marlins on Friday. With Hurricane Irene set to batter the Eastern seaboard this weekend, Sunday’s game was already moved to Saturday afternoon an Saturday’s game has been moved to September.

With rain already moving into South Jersey on Saturday morning, there is a real shot that Saturday afternoon’s game doesn’t get played. If that happens, the Phils wouldn’t play again until Monday.

Six days between wins? Yep, looking that way. Who woulda thunk?
