Apparently, Arthur Blank was happy to see Michael Vick get his life back on track — just not in his house. Philly.com posted a report from Yahoo! Sports that detailed Blank’s reaction to Vick seeing mop-up duty in Atlanta during the Eagles 34-7 win in 2009.

If you remember, Vick was inserted with the game out of hand and proceeded to rush for a score and throw another touchdown.

Blank told NBC SportsTalk this week that he understands why the Eagles put in Vick and he doesn’t see any reason why Andy Reid or the Eagles would purposely insult the Falcons organization. Still, he wasn’t thrilled to see it.

Arthur Blank was none to pleased to see Michael Vick play two years ago in Atlanta.

From his appearance on SportsTalk via Philly.com:

“Well I didn’t feel good about it,” Blank said. “But I know Coach Reid, he’s an outstanding head coach and an outstanding human being. And in terms of the Michael story, dealing with redemption, dealing with some of the personal issues he’s had in his own life with his children, I understand his viewpoint. I think trying to put myself in his position, I think he was trying to make Michael feel better about himself, trying to make the Eagles, his organization, feel better about themselves from that perspective. I don’t think I was thrilled with it. But I know Andy well enough, and I know the organization well enough to know I don’t think it was intended to flaunt us in a negative way. But it didn’t leave me with a good taste in my mouth but I understood it.”

Hey, Mr. Home Depot, you can’t have it both ways. You have been outspoken in your support of Michael and his “redemption.” It’s understandable to be a bit upset because Vick was your franchise quarterback and you envisioned him as a Falcon for life. But, to think for a second that the Eagles were rubbing your nose in it was absurd. How many times does a team pull a starter in a blowout to protect him from injury?

Maybe tonight Blank will get upset if Vince Young sees some action in a blowout.
