While Asante Samuel’s skillset was never truly appreciated in Philly because of his rep as a weak tackler, the fact is the man was a playmaker and racked up 23 interceptions in four years with the Eagles.

After a year in which he only had three picks and dealt with having Nnamdi Asomguha an Domonique Rodgers-Cromartie come in to compete with him, Samuel is now in Atlanta after an offseason trade.

As training camp approaches, Samuel is starting to get into pick-six mode by flexing his cybermuscles. Yep, the NFL cornerback is talking ish on Twitter. And, he’s ripping Eagle Nation.

Of course, he was referring to this:

Asante Samuel reminded us of this great moment in Eagles history today. Great guy, that Asante.

As bad as that may be, Samuel was just getting started.

Wow, that’s a lot to digest. A few thoughts, Asante.

First, it is possible to be a former fan of yours and not a fraud. See, we root for the name on the front of the jersey, not the back in most cases. When you return to Philly, sorry, but we gotta turn our backs on you. You were good, but you were no Brian Dawkins. You expect BDawk respect and you’re just going to get it here.

Second, you say you’re getting mentally prepared by “talking shit.” On Twitter. yeah, talking smack with a bunch of working stiffs sitting at their computers is really going to get you prepared to stop Steve Smith, Marques Colston and others. Good luck with that.

Finally, we don’t turn our backs on our team when things go bad. We simply expect 100 percent effort on every play. Want to know why guys like BDawk and Chooch and Charles Barkley are revered in this city. Find me one play that any of them have ever taken off from and not given their maximum effort.
