Sure, he shut down the Phillies in Game 2 of the series.

You just knew, however, that the Padilla Philadelphians were subjected for five years would show up this postseason. Tonight, Mr. Inconsistency was back in South Philly.

Padilla surrendered six runs on four hits, walked two and struck out two in three innings. The Dodgers best pitcher down the stretch just got yanked in the fourth inning with the Phils holding a 6-2 lead.

The Phillies are now in the Dodgers bullpen, which has logged some serious innings the last two games.

Frankford and Torresdale should be a crazy seen within the next two hours!

How smart are the Phillies?

We might be about to find out.

Hopefully, the Phillies have put up young Cole Hamels at a hotel for the night. We have no way of knowing if this indeed will happen. This is purely speculation.

Cole Hamels needs a restful night before pitching a potential series-clinching Game 5 on Wednesday.

We all remember that Cole’s wife, Heidi, went into labor the day he lost his start against the Rockies in the NLDS. Caleb Michael Hamels was born on October 9, just under two weeks ago.

As anyone with a newborn in the house knows, sleep is hard to come by with nighttime feedings. While your DailyPhiladelphian is sure Heidi would do her best to make sure Cole is rested — she didn’t want anyone telling Cole she was in labor until he finished pitching Game 2 of the NLDS — the fact is babies cry at night.

Cole is a finicky pitcher who needs to adhere to his schedule. He complained about pitching at 2:37 p.m. this postseason because he usually starts games at 1 or 7 p.m.

The Phillies have a chance to make a return appearance to the World Series tomorrow. They need their former ace to be well rested and ready to sit down Manny, Kemp and Padilla.
