According to our friend, ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Eagles will likely play again next Sunday to start the playoffs.

Schefter tweeted moments ago that the Eagles and Cowboys will likely have their Week 17 rematch next Sunday, while the Cardinals and Packers will battle again next Saturday.

The Cowboys beat the Eagles 24-0 on Sunday to secure the third seed and knock the Eagles to the sixth slot.

Meanwhile, the Packers dropped the Cardinals 33-7 to wrap up the fifth seed and drop the cardinals to the 4 spot.

Welcome to As The Favre Turns, a show featuring a turncoat, a baby, a rookie and a man who finally has the the Land of Cheese on his side. And, that’s just the quarterbacks.

Aaron Rodgers will lead the Packers to the division title, making Packers fans forget about the turncoat for a little while.

Green Bay Packers (11-5). The Cheeseheads are not happy with Lord Favre and will likely stand behind Aaron Rodgers, who enters his second season under center. The team still has good receivers in Gregg Jennings and Donald Driver, plus a solid running game led by Ryan Grant. The defense has been solid the last few years and shows no signs of slowing down. The division will come down to the final weeks, and the Packers have enough to get the job done. Plus, the motivation to stick it to Favre can’t hurt.

Chicago Bears (10-6). Jay Cutler cried and bitched his way out of Denver and joins a Bears team with a solid running attack led by second-year back Matt Forte. He’ll get to throw the ball to speedster Devin Hester and future All-Pro TE Greg Olsen. Brian Urlacher and the defense will always give the Bears a chance to win. The team has lacked a true quarterback for years. Now, the have one. Now, they have no excuses. It’s NFC Title game or bust for Da’ Bears.

The Vikings finally got their man, quarterback Brett Favre.

Minnesota Vikings (9-7). Brett Favre is a Viking. Like the Bears, the Vikings have chased a quarterback to take them to the top for years. More specifically, they have been hot for Favre, the flip-flopping, wishy-washy, attention-seeking diva who finally graced the Twin Cities with his royal presence. Pairing the King of Interceptions with superstar back Adrian Peterson guarantees a championship for the Purple People Eaters. Not so fast. Favre is old and still has a rotator cuff injury. Plus, he really doesn’t have anyone to throw to. Sure, rookie wideout Percy Harvin is fast, but he needs experience. Few receivers step in and play as well as a DeSean Jackson. The defense is one of the league’s best and will help the Vikings stay above .500 and in the division race until the last two weeks. In the end, Favre will visit the IR for the first time of his career and Brad Childress will face the same fate as Eric Mangini did a year ago.

Detroit (2-14). Detroit will do something this year that it hasn’t done since Dec. 23, 2007 — win an NFL game. Get the champagne ready, Lions fans, as there will be no 0-16 season this year. Rookie quarterback Matt Stafford appears to be the favorite to start the season over veteran Daunte Culpepper. Otherwise, there isn’t much worth mentioning here. The Lions have a long way to go toward erasing the memory of Matt Millen, the most ineffective executive in the history of professional sports.
