Forget Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the Patriots, Archie Manning woke up on Monday morning trying to figure out a way to perform voodoo on Eagles corner Asante Samuel. The Eagles corner is living in the Mannings’ nightmares this season.

The Pro Bowl corner racked up two interceptions against Eli Manning in Sunday’s 27-17 win over the Giants, bringing his season total to seven. He is just three shy of his personal record with six games to play.

Asante Samuel picked off Eli manning twice on Sunday. He has four total picks against the Manning boys this year.

Two weeks ago, Samuel picked off Eli’s brother Peyton Manning twice as well as the Birds dropped the Colts.

Yes, more than half of his picks have come from the arms of the NFL’s Royal Family this season. On the season, Peyton has thrown seven total interceptions, while Eli has tossed 16 balls to the opposition.

Combined, the Mannings have thrown four of their 23 picks to Samuel. That’s roughly 17 percent of their interceptions.

Samuel has at least one shot to take down the Mannings when the Eagles travel to East Rutherford on Dec. 19. Something tells me Archie will be visiting some voodoo doll shops in the backstreets of New Orleans between now and then.

Rumor has it that Colts QB Peyton Manning is going to moonlight the night before his Colts battle the Eagles. The Phillies did something similar last spring.

Citing a shortage for the weekend ahead, Philadelphia International Airport has contracted with the Colts to use Manning as an air traffic controller. He has plenty of experience. All you need to do is watch him flail his hands about at the line of scrimmage on any gameday.

Of course, Ben Stiller also gives us a taste of Manning’s unique style.

Drew Brees didn’t win win Super Bowl 44 for New Orleans. Neither did Reggie Bush.

Coach Sean Payton won the game with gutsy play calling and should be the MVP of Super Bowl 44. Obviously, he’s not a player and can’t win the award, but everyone has to realize that Bourbon Street isn’t partying right now if not for the Saints head coach.

The onside kick to start the second half will go down as one of the top plays in Super Bowl history. And, Payton will go down as the coach with the most guts in the history of sport.

Sean Payton will forever be a part of Super Bowl lore.

Trailing 10-6 to start the second half, many coaches would not start with an onside kick. Especially not in the Super Bowl! The SUPER BOWL!

That call was more about whether or not his team recovered the ball. Of course, the fact that Hank Baskett’s hands got soft from playing with Kendra’s breasts didn’t hurt.

Instead, that call was more about displaying confidence in his players, in his coaches, in his team, in his organization. Every person on the Saints sideline walked with more moxie after that play. If they thought they could win the Super Bowl when the game started and at halftime, they knew would win after that call.

The entire squad played even more aggressively, getting after Peyton Manning. Heck, when’s the last time a team has forced Manning to make a mistake with the game on the line in the last five minutes of the fourth quarter. Tracy Porter did that by picking off Manning and taking it 74 yards to the house to seal the game and bring the Lombardi Trophy to New Orleans.

None of that happens without Sean Payton’s leadership. It doesn’t happen without his moxie. It doesn’t happen with the balls he had to try an onside kick.

When people look back on this game, they’ll think of Payton. The coach left his mark on the NFL on the biggest stage in all of sports.

While the Super Bowl has morphed into one of the biggest events in the nation, nothing beats the sham that is the official Media Day prior to the game.

Some of the dumbest questions ever asked have taken root at the annual media session that is attended by entertainment reporters who have absolutely no clue about sports or professional football. We can’t believe DailyPhiladelphian.com was denied credentials for this year’s session which will take place on Tuesday.

In any event, here are our top 10 questions that we’d ask if we were in attendance at Super Bowl 44 Media Day.

1. Who would you rather — Sammi Sweetheart, Angelina, Jwoww or Snooki?

Snooki

JWoww

2. Who do you most fist pump like — Vinnie or Ronnie?

3. In a scrap on the Seaside Heights boardwalk, who wins — you, Ronnie or Jwoww?

4. Who’s more pussy-whipped — Hank Baskett or Reggie Bush?

5. For Reggie Bush: How much of a pay cut did you take when you left USC for the NFL?

6. For Hank Baskett: Does Kendra ever scream Hugh Hefner’s name in bed?

7. For the quarterbacks: Would you rather get sandwiched by Ray Lewis and Brian Dawkins, or have Terrell Owens as a teammate?

8. For Dallas Clark: Why didn’t your parents just name you A-hole?

9. For Jahri Evans and Kyle Eckel: Where would you rather be — the Super Bowl or Wing Bowl?

10. For Jeremy Shockey: If you win the MVP Award, are you going to Disney World or Rehab?

Which questions would you ask if you were there? Place it in the comment section, or e-mail us at DailyPhiladelphian@Gmail.com and we’ll try to post an updated list with your suggestions on Tuesday.

The royalty of the division has a totally new coaching staff, one team is on the brink of finally achieving something, and two others have shaky quarterback situations at best. Welcome to the AFC South.

Mario Williams and the Houston Texans eye their first playoff appearance in team history.

Houston (11-5). After years of hoping and wishing in Houston, the Texans will take a big step forward and win this division. Matt Schaub, when healthy, is a very good and accurate quarterback and he has weapons around him in wide receiver Andre Johnson and running back Steve Slaton. The defense, led by Mario Williams, will be good enough to get the job done this year. Houston, get ready to host an NFL playoff game for the first time since the Oilers left town.

Indianapolis (11-5). After years of stability, the Colts enter the season with a a new head coach and new assistants. Jim Caldwell is in for Michael Vick mentor retired coach Tony Dungy. The defense is getting older. They will still be a playoff team simply because of the weapons on offense, but they will not run away with the division. Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Joseph Addai and Co. will score a ton of points as usual. Add in the fact that rookie back Donald Brown provides depth in the backfield the team hasn’t had since its Super Bowl season, and the Colts will still be a force that gives opposing defensive coordinators nightmares.

Tennessee (8-8). A year removed from an improbable run to the top seed in the AFC, the Titans will come back to the pack this season. The team has no real quarterback threat. Kerry Collins had a superb year handing off to running backs Lendale White and Chris Johnson last season. But, how long can that last? And, should anything happen to the aging Collins, does anyone trust Vince Young under center? On the other side of the ball, the defense will miss DT Albert Haynesworth who bolted for Washington.

Jacksonville (6-10). David Garrard is not a playoff-caliber quarterback. The team lost depth in the backfield when Fred Taylor was sent packing. The receivers are nothing to speak about, even with the addition of Torry Holt and his walker. The defense will be solid as usual, however, it won’t be enough to save Jack Del Rio’s job, much to the delight of Hugh Douglas.
