We all make mistakes. Admitting them is what separates the men from the boys. I stood by Ruben Amaro when he dealt Cliff Lee to Seattle. I agreed with his thinking of beefing up the farm system.
I was wrong, and so was he.
Today, in The Daily Philadelphian’s debut in a partnership with TheDLeague.com, a new [...]

Ruben Amaro is on the verge of facing a full out firestorm, the likes of which he has not had to endure since striking out in a crucial situation during his playing days.
Let’s face it, the man has had a nice run as assistant GM to Pat Gillick, and GM of a [...]

Jayson Werth is far from playing his way to another city next season. If anything, he’s playing his way back to Philadelphia for the foreseeable future.
A year removed from his first all-star appearance, Werth has started 2010 on a tear that Phillies outfielders have rarely seen. In 31 games thus far, the [...]

That Ruben Amaro Jr. is one shrewd and sneaky swapper. Just when many were ripping him for dealing Cliff Lee, it looks like he’s going to get the last laugh.
Amaro dealt damaged goods to the Mariners. Lee recently had surgery on his foot to take care of some bone spurs and may [...]

Joe Blanton could cost Phillies more than Cliff Lee

Blanton, who filed for arbitration, is requesting $10.25 million for the upcoming season. The Phillies are offering $7.5 million. Blanton earned $5.475 million in 2009. [...]

Phillies likely to make a big move this offseason
November 5th, 2009 · 5 Comments · Philadelphia Phillies
Pat Gillick said he always believed in making at least one big move even after winning a title. He said you need to do it to say on top.
Last year, that move was Raul Ibanez. What does this offseason have in store for the Phils? What do they need to do to stay on top [...]

The Phillies have decided to take 12 pitchers to the World Series and added Brett Myers to the roster today. According to Andy Martino of the Inquirer, Miguel Cairo has been removed from the roster to make room for Myers.

Lee, then who? Phils rotation questions

Cliff Lee is the ace.
OK, I just violated the first lesson I ever learned in journalism class — always present news in your lede.
When the Phillies take to the field at the plush new Yankee Stadium, or the expansive Angel Stadium, for Game 1 of the 2009 World Series, Lee will be on the mound. [...]
